Rectangular plaque, rounded corners, dark mahogany border. Silver-tone relief of Virgin Mary holding infant Jesus cheek-to-cheek — classic Byzantine Eleusa/Tenderness iconographic pose. Faces rendered in warm polychrome flesh tones with etched linear detail. Mary’s veil decorated with small embossed dot-flower motifs. Large bold gold halo fills upper portion. Child’s halo also gold. Body/robes in polished silver. Maker’s mark lower right. Approx. portrait orientation, similar scale to IMG_2622.
