This handcrafted religious icon / print on gold-leaf board is handcrafted in the Holy Land from sustainably harvested, authentic Bethlehem Olivewood. Using only non-productive olive trees from the Holy Land, this handmade piece reveals the stunning natural grain patterns of olive wood, free of any additives or sealants.

Symbolizing theotokos — virgin mary mother of god, specifically the jerusalem icon; orthodox christian tradition. Materials include printed image on wood/mdf board with gold-leaf border, burgundy outer frame. Rectangular board slightly taller than wide, approx A5 size. Gold-leaf textured border with decorative corner ornaments. Inset central image of Virgin Mary in red robe and green mantle, Child Jesus in ochre/gold robes holding a jeweled orb. Ornate arch border with geometric patterns inside image. Greek text ‘ΜΡ ΘΥ’ (Meter Theou) top corners, ‘ΙΕΡΟΣΟΛΥΜΙΤΙΣΣΑ’ (of Jerusalem) left side. Both figures have halos with jeweled detailing. Still in factory plastic shrink wrap.
